Northern Michigan Flute Choir

The Northern Michigan Flute Choir is comprised of seven flutists from a five county area in Northern Michigan.  This group consists of public school music teachers, band directors, college flute instructors, and private music instructors.  All of the members have performed professionally, and are currently members of regional organizations, including the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, Gaylord Chamber Orchestra, Straits Area Concert Band, Charlevoix City Band, Kalamazoo Concert Band, Gaylord Community Band, and Encore Winds.  The Northern Michigan Flute Choir performs annually on Mackinac Island and during the Petoskey City Park Concerts.  Additionally, they have performed as guest artists with the Gaylord Community Band, provided music for area church services, and receptions and weddings. 

Their concert repertoire will consist of a variety of musical compositions from traditional Irish melodies, popular movie themes, and selections from the 20th century.  Compositions range from three-to-seven part harmonies and will include piccolo and alto flute in addition to the concert flute.
