Financial Assistance
The Friendship Shelter, located at 7163 Old 27 South, consists of eight residential units with a capacity of 35. Being an old structure, repairs are constantly required. 50% matching funds are required to match the grant received from the Michigan Housing Development Authority (MSHDA).
Checks made payable to the Friendship Shelter may be mailed to P.O. Box 2048, Gaylord, MI 49734. Cash or check donations can be made at Northwestern Bank's Gaylord branches.Online donations can be made via PayPal on our Donate Now page.
The Friendship Shelter is a non-profit 501c(3) organization. As such, all donations are fully tax deductible.
Volunteers
- Provide a ride for someone in need (Dr. visits, out of town transporation)
- Read a story to a child (Story Hour)
- Answer phones for an hour or two
- Assist in food distribution
- Help with fund raisers throughout the year
- Help publish the Newsletter
